In the heart of Corbières on the commune of Lézignan Corbières,
Château du Grand Caumont is one of the largest estates in the Corbières with 100 hectares of vines on a 140 hectares estate set in a Mediterranean landscapes.
The vineyards surrounds the Château and lies on stony, terraced, clayey-limestone soils offering excellent filtration.
Already a pioneering estate in the 19th century, the Grand Caumont vineyard has recently undergone significant improvements both in terms of vineyard plantations and in the winery.
AOC Corbières
The grapes varieties are the traditional Corbières varieties : Carignan noir, Syrah, Grenache noir. The average age of the vines is 40 years. The oldest Carignan vines, over 50 years old, are hand harvested and vinified as full berries.
Vin de Pays
Wines from Grand Caumont are mainly based on two grape varieties : Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
